Before committing to an order per ton of epoxy resin or composite polymer, engineers and plant managers often ask the same questions. These are not minor technical doubts: they define the budget, project deadlines, and project feasibility.
The technical data sheet indicates 24 hours at 23 °C, but in unheated warehouses the temperature drops to 12 °C at night. In that scenario, full curing can extend to 48 or 60 hours. We recommend requesting a test with the specific batch and measuring Shore D hardness before releasing the floor for traffic.
If the slab has more than 4% moisture according to the calcium carbide method, adhesion drops below 1.5 MPa. In these cases, we apply a low-viscosity primer that seals the substrate. Several clients ask if they can skip this step; the answer is always the same: it is not recommended.
For epoxy resin parts with mineral filler, linear shrinkage is 0.2% to 0.5%. In components over one meter long, this equates to a 2–5 mm difference. If the design requires tighter tolerances, the part must be machined after curing or a low-shrinkage resin system must be used.
Yes, as long as both batches have the same formulation number and the manufacturing date does not differ by more than 30 days. Viscosity may vary slightly between batches, so it must be mechanically homogenized before application. If the difference is greater, separate the batches and use them in different projects.
